Learn to Ride

Our program, inspired by Equestrian Canada’s Learn to Ride, follows the LTED framework to ensure safe and structured learning. While Hannah hasn’t taken the LTED course herself, she was trained by a qualified coach, integrating these principles into her teaching.

Overview

Our riding program is modeled after Equestrian Canada’s Learn to Ride principles, offering a structured and effective learning experience for riders of all ages. This approach ensures comprehensive instruction in a supportive, safe environment.

Foundation

The program adheres to the Long-Term Equestrian Development (LTED) framework, providing a clear and stage-appropriate pathway for both instructors and students. This ensures a safe and progressive environment for riders, drivers, and their equine partners.

Focus

Participants in our program learn best practices for safe and enjoyable horse handling, riding, and proper form. Emphasis is on developing knowledgeable, responsible horse enthusiasts. Beginners start in the ring and can advance to trail riding after mastering the basics.

Instructor Background

Although Hannah has not personally completed the Equestrian Canada LTED course, she was trained by a coach who has, integrating the core principles and ensuring high-quality instruction.

Why Train with Us

We use a gentle approach ideal for beginners and connect well with young riders. As lifelong horse enthusiasts and young adults, we offer a relatable and valuable perspective for those learning to ride.

Comprehensive Safety Measures

We ensure safety through meticulous equipment maintenance, rigorous tack checks, and well-structured lessons that prioritize secure riding practices. Riders master each stage thoroughly—such as learning to walk and use reins before trotting, and developing balance and proper seat before advancing to cantering or loping—to ensure a solid foundation and minimize risk.

Flexible and Affordable Lesson Packages

Group lessons on our horses are available in a six-lesson pack for $450 plus GST, which breaks down to $75 per lesson. This pack includes one 45-minute session each week for six weeks, in a group of 2-4 riders. Private lessons can be booked individually at $100 per hour, with no need for a multi-lesson commitment.

Experienced and Dedicated Team

Hannah and her sister Chelsea, lifelong riders from the Okanagan, BC, bring deep expertise to our program, including their teenage years competing in horse shows and on the hunter-jumper circuit. Their extensive riding experience and dedication provide a rich and knowledgeable experience for all riders.

Introducing Kids to the Joy of Riding

Our personalized lesson packs are perfect for beginners, providing tailored instruction to build confidence and introduce kids to the joys of riding. Our goal is to share our passion for horses and help new riders experience the same joy we grew up with. For those wishing to continue their journey, we can connect you with top trainers for further development.
